Mission

Novanet is a consortium of academic libraries which cooperate to enhance access to information and knowledge for the benefit of their user communities.

Core Activities

  • Maintaining a library management system.
  • Developing innovative approaches to resource sharing.
  • Facilitating cooperative collections development among member libraries in conjunction with academic programming planning.
  • Novanet was established in 1988. It currently consists of ten post-secondary institutions. It serves over 44,000 full time equivalent post-secondary students. Novanet libraries offer various services to Nova Scotia residents through the purchase of a Novanet library off-campus borrower’s card.

It is an incorporated company governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the director of libraries of the member institutions.

The Novanet consortium office consists of the Novanet Manager and technical staff.
