Mission
Novanet is a consortium of academic libraries in Nova Scotia which cooperate and collaborate to enhance access to information and knowledge for the benefit of their user communities.
Core Activities
- Maintaining a library management system and associated software.
- Developing innovative approaches to resource sharing.
- Facilitating cooperative collections development among member libraries in conjunction with academic programming planning.
Established in 1988, Novanet includes eleven Nova Scotian post-secondary institutions and serves over 50,000 full-time and part-time students. Novanet libraries offer various services to the province’s residents through the Libraries Nova Scotia (LNS) Borrow Anywhere Return Anywhere initiative, a partnership between the Novanet and provincial libraries. http://librariesns.ca/content/borrow-anywhere-return-anywhere-bara
Novanet is an incorporated company governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the library directors of each member institution.
The Novanet consortium office consists of the Novanet Manager and technical staff.
